Abstract
Properties of thermoplastics structural foams are considered, with particular emphasis on mechanical properties and the influence of structural variations on flexural and impact performance. Attention is also given to methods for predicting foam modulus and flexural stiffness, using known material parameters. Applications of structural foams are discussed, with reference to specific examples to illustrate the range of materials and markets available.
