Abstract

During thermoplastic filament winding the processing parameters such as mandrel temperature, nip point temperature, winding speed, compaction force, and tow tension have to be optimized. Continuous fiber reinforced rings were wound under variation of these winding parameters. In order to characterize the consolidation quality, an interlaminar shear test and a vibration test were made.
