Abstract

Gallium iron garnet and its Al3+-substituted derivatives have been prepared and sintered under oxygen pressure. On these materials, measurements were taken of infrared spectra, X-ray diffraction analysis, differential thermal analysis and the temperature dependence of d.c. electrical conductivity. The results obtained are explained, interpreted, compared and discussed in detail on the basis of structural conformation and the conduction mechanism prevailing.
