Abstract

AbstractThe investigation focuses on shredder light fractions, electrical waste, and metal concentrates from landfills that can be treated mechanically only with difficulty. The fractions were input to a combined thermomechanical treatment to procure a high degree of composite component separation. Suitable process parameters were identified and the respective treatment outcomes evaluated. Overall, it was possible to verify the basic suitability of the thermomechanical treatment of metal‐rich composite mixtures for recovering the metals contained.
