Abstract

Metallic polymer powders have been obtained which can be employed, with various carbon component additions, as starting materials for the production, by hot pressing, of electric brushes. A study was made of the thermomechanical properties of various electric brush materials of this type. The best properties were found to be exhibited by lead + Teflon + graphite metallic polymers produced by simultaneous heat treatment and subsequent hot pressing at 150°C.
