Abstract

Thermomagnetic curves have been calculated for a disordered system of non-interacting single-domain ferromagnetic spherical particles with cubic anisotropy. A strong Hopkinson effect is observed in the initial low-field thermomagnetic curves. The existence of this effect is examined here as connected with the processes of irreversible rotation of the particles' magnetization. The effect is determined by the temperature dependences of the anisotropy and of the spontaneous magnetization.
