Abstract
The thermoluminescence (TL), optical absorption, and thermoluminescence emission of coloured CsBr:Ca 2+ and CsCl:Ca 2+ crystals are reported. The origin of the TL glow is identified for various glow peaks. The formation of Z 1 and D 1 , D 2 centres is confirmed by both TL and optical absorption studies. A comprehensive energy level diagram depicting the various TL processes in these Ca 2+ doped Cesium halides is proposed
