Abstract

The combustion processes of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) under an oxygen-enriched atmosphere are analyzed by thermogravimetry and the combustion characteristics of RDF are studied. The factors influential to the combustion characteristics of RDF include the plastic content, heating rate and oxygen concentration. Investigation of RDF combustion characteristics can provide an important basis for the design and selection of combustion equipment. Meanwhile, the combustion activation energy and frequency factor are obtained by the Doyle method, and then the combustion model of RDF under an oxygen-enriched atmosphere is established. This study provides an essential basis for the spread of and oxygen-enriched combustion of RDF technology.
