Abstract

1. A series of thermographic studies were made over various body surfaces that consisted of determining the thermal fluctuation of the body surface subjected to localized pressure.2. A positive correlation between temperature variation and localized pressure was found.3. Variations of temperature of the body surfaces are described and discussed.4. It is suggested that the thermographic instrument may become a useful tool in the fitting of prosthetic devices where localized pressure may be a factor in a misfitting prosthesis.
