Abstract

Thermoelectric power studies of zinc-substituted nickel ferrites have been investigated as a function of composition and temperature. On the basis of the sign of the Seebeck coefficient ( S), the ferrites under investigation have been classified as n-type and p-type semiconductors. The values of charge carrier concentration have also been computed from the observed values of Seebeck coefficient. The variation of thermoelectric power and charge carrier concentration has been discussed as a function of composition and temperature. On the basis of these results, an explanation for the conduction mechanism in these ferrites is suggested.
