Abstract

The paper deals with the thermoelectric capabilities of superlattices described by the Fivaz model. These capabilities include increasing the figure of merit of the thermoelectric material, decreasing the electrical contact resistance, and implementing an anisotropic thermoelement. All of the above material characteristics are determined by the degree of openness of the Fermi surface or the nonparabolicity of the band spectrum.
