Abstract

AbstractThere exist physical processes (e. g. in energetic heavy ion collisions), where the time scale of the process is not sufficiently long to reach complete thermal equilibrium. Here we show a way to extend the thermodynamical formalism for unequilibrium situations. The results are compatible with continuum mechanics.
