Abstract

The O( N) model of quantum two-dimensional antiferro- and ferromagnets with a weak easy-axis anisotropy is considered. Analytical results for the temperature dependence of sublattice magnetization and ordering point are obtained. The temperature renormalization of the anisotropy parameter is investigated. The case where a small interlayer coupling is present is also discussed. The results are in good agreement with experimental data on the layered perovskites K 2NiF 4 and Rb 2NiF 4.
