Abstract

The misicibility of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with poly(methyl acrylate) (PMA) is demonstrated by using the Prigogine-Flory theory in Patterson's approximation. Negative values of enthalpy of mixing, contact-energy term and interaction parameter were obtained for the blend with 75 25 weight ratio. The temperature dependence of x 12 V* 1 indicates that PEO-PMA mixtures are miscible in the liquid state over the accessible temperature range.
