Abstract

Abstract The paper reviews thermodynamic studies performed since 1940 in which the poperties of oxide glass-forming liquids have been investigated by the electromotive force (emf) method. The results obtained by different authors for borate, silicate, germanate and phosphate systems are considered in a critical way and compared. The authors' interpretation is analyzed.
