Abstract
EMF measurements were made on solid solution Nb--Ta--O, electrolyte ThO/sub 2//Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/, and V + 10 at. % O ..cap alpha.. + ..beta.. phase mixture in an equilibrium study. The solid electrolytic cell technique is suitable for determining oxygen solubility and thermodynamic properties of ternary systems having two metal components. The enthalpy and entropy changes vary linearly with composition between the values for pure Nb and pure Ta. (FS)
