Abstract

We report osmotic and activity coefficients of aqueous sodium sulfate solutions. The osmotic coefficients were determined at 40°C by the isopiestic method. Sodium chloride served as the isopiestic standard. The molality ranges covered in this study correspond to about 0.2–3.0. The activity coefficients were calculated from the parameters obtained by fitting the Hamer–Wu and Pitzer equations to the experimental osmotic coefficients.
