Abstract

Mixtures of silybin (1) + poloxamer 188 (2) were prepared by a method of fusion cooling. Temperature (Tfus) and enthalpy of fusion (ΔfusH) versus mass fraction of silybin were measured by a DSC method. A eutectic point with w1 = 0.25 and Tfus,E = 325.4 K was observed. IR spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction results indicate that the spectra of mixtures can be regarded as the superposition of those of pure silybin and poloxamer 188. There was no significant change in the crystal structure of silybin and poloxamer in the mixed solid. The experimental Tfus, w1 diagram was fitted by using the Flory−Huggins model with a fair agreement.
