Abstract

1. An overall thermodynamic classification of various schemes for the separation of multicomponent mixtures has been made. In accordance with this classification, a unit with stripping sections, used in oil refining, is defined as a system with partially connected heat fluxes. 2. A computer calculation of various separation schemes has been made. It has been demonstrated that the thermodynamic efficiency of rectification units with stripping sections is greater than the efficiency of multicomponent units with consecutive separation of the components in two-sectional columns.
