Abstract
Graphite perchlorate of stages 1 to 4 (GIC) and graphite oxide (GO) with the nominal compositions C 6OH and C 3.1OH were prepared by anodic oxidation of natural graphite in 71% HClO 4. A series of thermodynamic data of their formation at 298 K for one mole of carbon was derived from the electrochemical measurements.
