Abstract
The BiO 1.5–CaO–CuO x system is by far the simplest of the four ternary systems forming the BiO x –SrO–CaO–CuO x system where the superconducting phases Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O 8+ δ and Bi 2Sr 2Ca 2Cu 3O 10+ δ are found. The only solution phase extending into the system is the liquid phase. Using a single interaction parameter the experimentally determined [M.-L. Carvalho et al., Physica C 336 (2000) 1] eutectic temperature at 1024 K in 1 bar O 2 could be fitted and the complete phase diagram calculated.
