Abstract

This paper proposes a forced diffusion absorption refrigeration system, in which an integral cooling strategy is adopted, that is, the condensation and absorption heat are removed in one unit by a certain amount of precooled solution, and a circulating pump and an ejector provide the driving forces of the vapour and solution flows. This concept enables the diffusion absorption refrigeration system to be used for large cooling capacity applications, and the system bulk can be significantly reduced. The system is modelled and a thermal analysis is carried out to investigate the performance and the features. The results show that the system is valid to be operated and the thermal COP reaches 0.4 when the temperatures after generation, evaporation absorption and condensation are 160oC, -15oC and 35oC, respectively.
