Abstract
AbstractA statistical thermodynamic method of treating propagation of polymerization is developed. The effect of temperature on the sequence distribution of syndiotactic and isotactic units in free‐radical polymerization is discussed. This theory applies to the problem of probabilities of various possible modes of addition, namely head‐to‐head and head‐to‐tail addition, 1–2 and 1–4 addition, and formation of cis and trans configurations.
