Abstract
AbstractThe thermally stimulated discharge currents (TSDC) of pure NaYF4, and NaYF4 doped with 0.5 mole% Sm (in the form of SmF3) have been studied as function of polarizing temperature and polarizing field strength at a constant heating rate (β) = 0.05 Ks−1. The activation energies, relaxation parameters and charge were evaluated. The origin of TSDC spectra in NaYF4: Sm is attributed to space charge polarization. Whereas both dipolar and space charge process are found to operate in NaYF4 sample.
