Abstract
The synthesis, structural and optical properties of the Ho3+/Tm3+/Yb3+ codoped xenotime YPO4 nanophosphors have been reported. The developed phosphors have been structurally characterized through XRD, FESEM, HRTEM, EDAX and FTIR analysis. The diffuse reflectance and frequency upconversion (UC) emission study have been performed. In the developed nanophosphors, the red UC emission intensity remains always five times stronger than the green emission of Ho3+ ion irrespective of the concentration of Ho3+ ion. The pump power dependence UC luminescence intensity and the photon numbers involved have been also studied. The energy transfer efficiency has been calculated from the decay curve analysis. The developed nanophosphors emit intense red colour having (0.60, 0.32) CIE co-ordinate with 78.4% colour purity. The nanophosphors exhibit good thermal stability having 0.22 eV activation energy.
