Abstract

The thermalization of wires for electrical connections was measured at temperatures of ∼1.4 K in a pumped 4He cryostat, using a simple but efficient device composed of a band-cable of 50 manganin wires clamped into a heat sink. We applied a varied input power from 1 up to 20 μ W to the wires and we observed that the power dissipation can be reduced down to very low levels.
