Abstract

We study the nuclear dynamics involved in heavy-ion collisions using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model. In particular, the density and temperature reached in heavy-ion collision has been studied for the various forms of density-dependent symmetry energy. The density and temperature of nuclear matter increase with the stiffness of symmetry energy. Our findings conclude the nuclear stopping as an effective probe for the temperature reached in heavy-ion collisions.
