Thermal waters of Siberian Platform and its folded-mountains framing

Abstract

Geothermic conditions of platform artesian basins and hydrogeological folded provinces of eastern Siberia are considered, based on much factual matter. The analysis of deep well thermographs permits characterization of the depth of occurrence and the temperature on the Precambrian and pre-Jurassic basement surface of the Siberian Platform, and the temperature on the basement of intermontane artesian basins of Baykalian type in folded provinces. The temperature regime of subterranean waters in folded provinces is described on the basis of thermal waters emergences. Recommendations are proposed and prospects outlined on the use of thermal waters of different chemical composition for the people's economy of eastern Siberia. – B.V. Brajnikov.
