Abstract
Elastomer plays an important role in industrial application. They find wide application in processing of belt, hose, molded goods, unvalcanized sheet gum, flooring, truck tires, fuel Tanks, Rubber shoes, and electrical insulation. Ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) and Ethyl Vinyl Acetate / Natural Rubber are analyzed using FTIR spectroscopy, DSC and TGA measurements. With the objective of determining the mechanical strength, FTIR spectra were recorded for the above samples. Based on the relative values of the frequency of asymmetric stretching of CH in CH2 and CH3 the quality of rubber materials have been Evaluated and their mechanical strength were studied. Thermal analysis on TGA and DSC studies show that, the thermal degradation temperature Tg of the sample material is obtained around 460°C and activation energy is also calculated by Broido Horowitz - Metzger, Piloyan-Novikova and Coats Redfern methods which are found to be 0.4696 eV and 0.5279eV
