Abstract
Space solar power satellite (SSPS) is an advanced spacecraft for collecting solar energy in space and transmitting it wirelessly to earth. Because of the huge external flux, the high temperature in SSPS each sub-system cannot be neglected. Based on the MR SSPS concepts, this study investigated the thermal simulation and analysis on solar membrane arrays. Thermal simulation including theory, model, property and external heat flux are all proposed. Furthermore, thermal analysis results of different load cases such as degenerate surface, different external heat flux, different array ratio and transient case are all discussed. At last, all thermal analysis results have been compared. It can be concluded from the simulation results that almost all membrane areas are located in the maximum temperature field. The temperature gradients cannot be neglected in the connection position between membrane and truss. The influence of degenerate surface on temperature distribution is most obvious than others.
