Abstract

An analysis of the heat transfer from a current carrying copper oxide superconducting thin film to a copper substrate at 20 K was conducted for the case of a superconducting thin film to be used for high-power switching purposes. The calculations were extended to the maximum operating frequency for a given conduction current. As a result of these calculations, the thermal response time for the thin film due to a pulse heat source has been determined. >
