Abstract

Thermal neutron cross sections for the production of isomers have been measured for the following cases, by making irradiations with the swimming pool reactor at Trombay, Bombay: Se 78 (n, γ)Se 79m, Sr 84 (n, γ)Sr 85m, Sr 84 (n, γ)Sr 85, Rb 85 (n, γ)Rb 86m, Ba 132(n, γ)Ba 133m, Ba 134(n, γ)Ba 135m Ba 136(n, γ)Ba 137m, Os 190(n, γ)Os 191, 191m and some others. Activation method was employed using scintillation technique. Isomeric ratios seem to follow the rule of Mateosian and Goldhaber.
