Abstract

This paper tries to identify the thermal model of a claw pole generator using a method combing finite element method (FEM) with experiment. A finite element model with determined structure and a group of undetermined model parameters is chosen as the object to be refined. With the surface temperature data at different speed and load acquired by thermal imager, the finite element model is iteratively simulated with variable group of model parameters until the surface temperature data got from FEM model matches those from experiments well. The group of model parameters which bring up above matches are fixed, so that the exact thermal model is identified.
