Abstract

According to contemporary concepts, the Moon was formed by accumulation of cold solids, and was cold itself at the beginning. Later on, the accumulation of radiogenic heat in the Moon's interior caused its heating and melting (total or partial, depending on the content of radioactive elements), which was followed by its physico-chemical and gravitational differentiation.
