Abstract

Recent experiments provide a wealth of information on fluctuation superconductivity in mesoscopic rings. These experiments have been analyzed using the existing theory and therefore leave a gap in situations where the present theory is not applicable: rings with nonnegligible width to radius ratio, large coherence length to perimeter ratio, metastability, and nonuniformity. We report on results obtained with a method that works in all these situations and can thus fill the gap in the analysis.
