Abstract

High temperature thermal fatigue and oxidation resistance properties of laser surface alloying Co-Cr electrodeposited on medium carbon steel were investigated and compared with that of chromium electrodeposited and laser surface alloying chromium electrodeposited.Under the temperature range of 300 - 1200°C in air, thermal fatigue properties were tested by Gleeble 1500 analogue tester. The composition, microstructure and microhardness of these samples were analyzed before and after thermal fatigue tests. High temperature oxidation resistance of Fe-Co-Cr laser alloying layer is better than that of Fe-Cr laser alloying layer. Thermal fatigue resistance of Fe-Co-Cr laser alloying layer is as same as that of Fe-Cr laser alloying layer.
