Abstract

Thermal expansion data obtained in hcp cobalt by using the X-ray Bond's method has been compared with the temperature dependence of the first and the second uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy constants. It was confirmed that the effect of the change in the lattice parameter ratio ca is the most dominant term in the temperature variation of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constants.
