Abstract
The thermal expansion coefficient (α) and isothermal compressibility (χ T ) of TlIn1 – x Nd x Se2(0 ≤ x≤ 0.08) crystals were measured between 77 and 400 K. In the range 77–160 K, both α and χ T increase with temperature, the increase in α being much steeper. At higher temperatures, α and χ T change very little. The observed composition dependences of α and χ T are interpreted in terms of energy-band structure.
