Thermal diffusion factors for binary noble gas mixtures from column measurements. II

Abstract

A set of measurements of the thermal diffusion factor of the gaseous binary mixtures Kr–Xe, Ar–Xe, Ar–Kr, Ne–Kr, Ne–Ar, He–Kr, and He–Xe at ?=340.±5.K are presented. The measurement apparatus is a concentric-tube type thermal diffusion column, calibrated in a previous work with mixtures of He–Ar. It is shown that with the αT measurement method used, one obtains relative αT values that fit the Laranjeira criterion and are consistent with the most reliable literature values.
