Abstract

The effect of inclination on the sodium (Pr=0.0094) turbulent convection in a cylinder of unit aspect ratio was studied experimentally for a fixed Rayleigh number Ra$=(1.47\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{7}$, and the inclination angle varied from 0\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} (the Rayleigh-Benard convection) up to 90\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} with a step of 10\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}.
