Abstract

A simple and inexpensive method of comparing the thermal conductivity of dentine samples is described. Absolute values may be determined by using a standard sample, the conductivity of which has been accurately determined. The technique has been used to investigate the relative thermal properties of samples containing normal tubular dentine, reparative and transparent dentine and dentine specimens from teeth with dentinogenesis imperfecta.
