Abstract

Thermal conductivity (λ) and thermal diffusivity (a) of an Li-Pb alloy of eutectic composition (with a Li content of 15.7 at.%) have been measured by the laser flash method in the range from room temperature to 1273 K. The error in the λ measurement was 3–5 % for solid and 4–6 % for liquid states. The data of this paper were compared with the results of other authors available in the literature. The thermal conductivity of the Li15.7Pb84.3 is shown to be lower than that of pure lead melt and to increase with temperature in both phases. Approximation equations and a table of reference values for the temperature dependence of λ, a have been obtained.
