Abstract
Results of thermal modelling of a discharging Li/SOCl 2 cell, located in the central section of a battery stack, are summarized in the form of temperature profiles. Numerical solutions of coupled differential equations describing electrical and thermal processes with realistic input data for selected operating conditions and design approach are presented. A brief discussion of thermal behaviour relevant to the high discharge rate Li/SOCl 2 batteries is included.
