Abstract

The solidification process was expedited in current work with dispersing nano-powders and utilizing fins. The container has insulated wavy wall and the cold surface equipped with fins. The properties of NEPCM (Nanoparticle enhanced PCM) were estimated based on single phase assumption. The terms of speed of liquid phase were removed from equations. To solve the final equations, Galerkin method has been implemented and adaptive mesh has been applied. Presence of fins makes the discharging to be faster. Dispersing nano-powders makes conduction be stronger and time of freezing declines around 32.42 %. Inclusion of nano-powders with greater shape factor leads to decrement of freezing time about 10.69 %.
