Abstract

A procedure and analytical calculation are described for the thermal state of annular specimens with paraboloid end surfaces. Prescribed values of temperature, thermal, mechanical bending, and contact stresses are realized which provide a prescribed form of material failure taking account of the features of the material state close to holes and wedge-shaped contractions. In view of the fact that the specimens have some of the properties of simple multidimensional bodies it is possible to calculate the thermally stressed state analytically.
