Abstract

The variation of spallation target temperature under beam trip (BT) transient conditions would induce thermal stress and become a threat to the integrity of the window target. In this paper, the thermal-hydraulics and thermal stress of ADS window target during beam trip transients were analyzed by CFD method. Furthermore, the performance of series target models with different window parameters has been investigated. The results show that the reference 1.5 mm beam window's acceptable beam trip frequency is less than 6 × 104 per year. The target thickness has little impact on the window fatigue resistance performance.
