Abstract

Large scale Dy: YAlO3 (Dy: YAP) crystals with different doping concentrations were grown by the Czochralski methods. To our knowledge, the effects of as-grown crystals on the anisotropic thermal, and spectral properties were systematically evaluated for the first time. The thermal expansion, thermal diffusion, specific heat, and thermal conductivity of Dy: YAP crystals with the different doping concentrations (the size of about Φ 40∼50 mm × 120∼170 mm) were measured. Based on the calculation of the absorption cross-section and fluorescence emission cross-section, 1 at% Dy: YAP crystal is supposed to be a potential candidate for yellow laser application.
