Abstract

Nonlinear optical single crystal of bis(thiourea) nickel chloride were successfully grown by the slow evaporation solution growth method at room temperature.Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the crystal system and lattice parameter values. Powder X-ray diffraction anlayses have been carred out and the diffraction patterns have been indexed. The thermal stability of the grown crystal was found by thermogravimetric and differential thermal(TG&DTA) analysis. Hardness of the (BTNC) crystal was estimated by Vicker’s hardness studies. Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) of (BTNC) crystal was investigated by Kurtz powder technique. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss measurements were carried out for different temperatures and frequencies.
