Abstract

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) are extremely strong and light fiber-reinforced polymers which contain carbon fibers. They are commonly used wherever high strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity are required. These found applications in manufacturing of aerospace, automotive, civil engineering, and sports goods components. They also offered resistant to corrosion. This research work has been carried out to investigate carbon composite tensile strengths subjected different water temperatures for a period of time. The carbon composite laminates are fabricated with 0o-90o orientation carbon fibers bonded with epoxy adhesive. A tensile test is conducted on all laminates and analyzed to find the behavior of the composite soaked to water temperatures 270, 35o, 55o, and 65o for a time period of 15, 30, 45 and 60 days.
