Abstract

Radiofrequency thermal ablation of the greater saphenous vein (GSV) is now frequently used. Thromboembolic are the most dangerous complication of this technique. However current guidelines regarding the need for preventive postoperative anticoagulation are still unclear. The objective of our study was to compare the results of routine or targeted postoperative anticoagulation, based on the risk factors.
